I have always seen the commercial for the Shark Steam Mop and thought it looked interesting. Who wouldn't want to clean their floors without using extra chemicals. Being a mom and also a home daycare provider I find that it is really important to reduce the unnatural cleaning products in my home without sacrificing the cleanliness. I was a little nervous spending a lot of money on a mop that I wasn't sure would work, but I am glad I decided to go ahead and buy the Shark Steam Mop.
I was very excited the day I bought it. I un-packaged it, read the instructions and got ready to mop. The Shark Steam Mop is very easy to use. Just put the pad on, fill with water, and plug in. Immediately after you plug it in you can hear the water heating up and turning into steam. After a few seconds it is ready to use for mopping.
I was happy to find out that the Shark Steam Mop cleaned my floors better than my traditional mop, and it was easier to use. It doesn't leave wet spots around the floor, there is no chance of water spilling, and it cleans most stains in just a few swipes. It even got this horrible black scuff off my floor that I've never been able to get up with tough scrubbing.
One thing that I also loved about it is that the steam doesn't hurt if you get to close to it. My kids love to sit by the floor and watch the steam come up as I clean the floors. Which is okay by me since the steam doesn't hurt them and they won't be breathing in chemicals.
Overall, I find that I am very happy with my steam mop. The worst thing about it is that you have to wash the pads separately and they can't be run through the drier. Even that's not that big of a deal, I bought extra pads and just wash the load of them together once a week.
